Welcome!

I’m Cailin, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (NY license #092803) providing telehealth services across New York State. I specialize in working with young adults and women who are navigating anxiety, healing from trauma, or breaking free from relationship patterns that no longer serve them. If you've found your way here, something in you is ready for change. You don't have to figure it all out alone.

I provide individual therapy sessions over telehealth, and have been trained in evidence-based therapies such as EMDR, DBT, and CBT. Therapy is a collaborative process and personalized to your goals and needs. Our work together might involve building new coping skills, shifting long-held patterns, gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, or simply learning to give yourself a little grace.

If it sounds like we might be a good fit, I would love to hear from you. Click the button below to schedule a consultation through my secure, online platform.

Background and training

EMDR

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy. EMDR was developed over 30 years ago by Francine Shapiro, and is an evidence based treatment for trauma and PTSD. During EMDR sessions you will focus on the painful memory while also experiencing bilateral stimulation (usually eye movements or tapping) and this helps to make the memory feel less intense, and less emotionally charged. Most people feel better in 6 to 12 sessions, depending on the complexity of what we are working on.

I completed my EMDR basic training with an EMDRIA (EMDR International Association) approved trainer. Click here to learn more about EMDR and EMDRIA.

DBT

DBT stands for Dialectical Behavior Therapy. The primary focus of DBT is to help you learn how to live in the moment, better manage your emotions, improve relationships and communication with others, and develop healthy coping skills. DBT work includes developing concrete coping skills, and examining your patterns of thinking and behaving.

CBT

CBT stands for Cognitive Behavior Therapy. CBT is a type of therapy that is primarily focused on helping you learn to challenge unhelpful ways of thinking that negatively impact how you feel and behave. Just because you have a thought doesn’t make it true. I use CBT techniques to help you develop a healthy perspective on how you think.

Meet Juniper

Juni is my four legged, therapeutic partner. Juni has completed extensive training and obedience work in order to join me at work.

I’ve transitioned to a fully telehealth practice for the time being, and so Juni may make an occasional appearance (or upon request!) to provide comfort and emotional support.
